Free Government Funded Skills Bootcamp in Lancashire

Our mission with Lancashire City Council

Lancashire City Council exists to serve and make change to those living or working within the Lancashire region. Construction Helpline are providing funded training in construction trades to inspire people to achieve their potential and take the next step in their career. Our mission in working with LCC is through creating job opportunities for individuals wanting to learn new skills, while also attracting employers to the county by providing newly skilled construction professionals ready to enter the industry.

This funded training has been created for individuals who are construction trades team leaders, assistant supervisors, supervisors on SSSTS certification seeking to upskill onto a Level 3 NVQ supervision qualification and gain a Gold CSCS Supervisory card within the Lancashire area.

Our Skills Bootcamp offers a comprehensive 6-8* week, non-accredited learning experience designed to build a strong foundation in occupational workplace supervision. Through engaging content and practical exercises, you'll develop the key knowledge, skills, and behaviours required for effective leadership.

Following successful completion of the Skills Bootcamp, you will be eligible to register for the nationally recognised Pearson Level 3 Occupational Workplace Supervision qualification, empowering you to advance your career.

What is included in this training?
  • Eight weeks professional knowledge classes with industry expert tutor learning knowledge for Level 3 - this course is a pathway to Full NVQ
  • Skills Bootcamp certificate of attendance (80% GLH)
  • ILP and reviews
  • Registration onto a Pearson NVQ Level 3 in Occupational Work Supervision, working with professional assessor aligned with NVQ learning outcomes
  • CITB Test
  • CSCS Card on completion of NVQ
To qualify for the level 3 Supervision training, learners are required to:
  • Live within the Lancashire region and be 19+ years old
  • Have experience in construction either up to a level 2 trade qualification or with equivalent experience and with extra responsibilities such as acting as a team leader, supporting a qualified supervisor or a site manager or currently holding an SSSTS certificate and are looking to qualify for a Gold CSCS Supervisors card.

This training has been designed for construction professionals who are currently working as either construction managers, site managers on SMSTS certification and Gold CSCS card supervisors looking to progress onto a level 5 NVQ qualification.

Our Skills Bootcamp offers a comprehensive 6-8* week, non-accredited learning experience designed to build a strong foundation in occupational workplace supervision. Through engaging content and practical exercises, you'll develop the key knowledge, skills, and behaviours required for effective leadership.

Following successful completion of the Skills Bootcamp, you will be eligible to register for the nationally recognised Pearson Level 5 Construction Management qualification, empowering you to advance your career.

To qualify for the level 5 Construction Site Management training, learners are required to:
  • Live within the Lancashire region and be 19+ years old.
  • Have experience in construction as either a construction projects manager, a level 3 supervisor or technical qualification, via SMSTS certificate or with equivalent experience and would like to qualify for a Black CSCS manager's Card.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Although these Bootcamps are held in the Lancashire region, if you live in surrounding regions such as Manchester, Bradford and Huddersfield and can commute to Lancashire, you may be eligible.

You will start your NVQ as close to midway through the Skills Bootcamp as soon as possible (dependent on the pace of the group).

Our start dates vary dependent on location and trade, once you have passed eligibility from our team, you will be informed on the next Bootcamp start date.

Other than our Bootcamps being free for all learners, they teach you how to interpret academically written knowledge questions to maximise your chances of passing your NVQ in as short a time frame as possible, while developing your analytical skills.
