Free Government Funded Construction Training in Merton

Our mission with Merton Council

Working with Merton Council, we are providing funded training within construction to inspire people to unlock their potential and take the next step in their career. Within the Merton area, we are providing training in Level 3 Occupational Work Supervision. By upskilling and reskilling professionals, we hope to combat the skills gap within the industry and further redefine what it means to learn in construction.

This funded training has been created for individuals who are construction trades team leaders, assistant supervisors, supervisors on SSSTS certification seeking to upskill onto a Level 3 NVQ supervision qualification and gain a Gold CSCS Supervisory card within the Merton area.

Our Funded training offers a comprehensive, non-accredited learning experience designed to build a strong foundation in occupational workplace supervision. Through engaging content and practical exercises, you'll develop the key knowledge, skills, and behaviours required for effective leadership.

Following successful completion of the Funded training, you will be eligible to register for the nationally recognised NOCN Level 3 Occupational Workplace Supervision qualification, empowering you to advance your career.

What is included in this training?
  • Eight weeks professional knowledge classes with industry expert tutor learning knowledge for Level 3 - this course is a pathway to Full NVQ
  • Funded training certificate of attendance (80% GLH)
  • ILP and reviews
  • Registration onto a NOCN NVQ Level 3 in Occupational Work Supervision, working with professional assessor aligned with NVQ learning outcomes
  • CITB Test
  • CSCS Card on completion of NVQ
To qualify for the level 3 Supervision training, learners are required to:
  • Live within the Merton region and be 19+ years old
  • Have experience in construction either up to a level 2 trade qualification or with equivalent experience and with extra responsibilities such as acting as a team leader, supporting a qualified supervisor or a site manager or currently holding an SSSTS certificate and are looking to qualify for a Gold CSCS Supervisors card.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Although our Funded training is held in the Merton Region, if you live in surrounding area such as Kingston Upon Thames, Wandsworth and Sutton and can commute to Merton, you may still be eligible.

You will start your NVQ as close to midway through the funded training (dependent on the pace of the group).

Our start dates vary dependent on location and trade, once you have passed eligibility from our team, you will be informed on the next training start date.

Other than our training being free for all learners, it will also teach you the best way to interpret academically written knowledge questions to maximise your chances of passing your NVQ in as short a time frame as possible, while developing your analytical skills.
