Our mission with LCRCA

LCRCA (Liverpool City Region Combined Authority) is a strategic authority that works to make change within transport, employment, culture and housing within the Liverpool City Region. Working closely with local authorities, one of the main benefits of LCRCA is creating jobs and apprenticeships for people, which through our Skills Bootcamps, we hope to further upskill and reskill construction professionals.

Level 3 Skills Bootcamp in Construction Management and Supervision

This funded training has been created for individuals who are construction trades team leaders, assistant supervisors, supervisors who require SSSTS certification and are seeking to upskill to a Level 3 education within the Liverpool area.

This Skills Bootcamp offers a comprehensive 8 week (total of 70 hours), non-accredited learning experience designed to build a strong foundation in occupational workplace supervision. Through engaging content and practical exercises, you'll develop the key knowledge, skills, and behaviours required for effective leadership.

What is included in this training?

CITB Site Supervisors' Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) certificate:

The role of Site Supervisor
Health & Safety in the construction industry
Awareness in Equality and Diversity (including Modern Slavery)
BIM awareness
Mental Health awareness
Circular Economy awareness
Modern Methods of Construction awareness
Project Case Studies
Project costing and material Take-offs
Employability skills
Presentation skills

Disclaimer: 90% of this course will be delivered online via Microsoft Teams and 2 days Face-To-Face training with an industry expert (City Centre).

To qualify for the level 3 Supervision and Management training, learners are required to:

Live within the Liverpool region and be 19+ years old
Have experience in construction either up to a level 2/3 trade qualification or with equivalent experience and with extra responsibilities such as acting as a team leader, supporting a qualified supervisor or a site manager and are looking to upskill.

I do not live in the Liverpool area; can I still apply for this training?

Although these Bootcamps are held in the Liverpool City Region, if you live in surrounding regions such as Warrington, Wigan and Chester and can commute to Liverpool, you may be eligible.

When will I start my NVQ?

You will start your NVQ as close to midway through the Skills Bootcamp as soon as possible (dependent on the pace of the group).

When does the training start?

Our start dates vary dependent on location and trade, once you have passed eligibility from our team, you will be informed on the next Bootcamp start date.

What is the benefit of this training compared to a regular NVQ?

Other than our Bootcamps being free for all learners, they teach you how to interpret academically written knowledge questions to maximise your chances of passing your NVQ in as short a time frame as possible, while developing your analytical skills.
